KEL Records

Here you will find audio of all records released by KEL. Whenever possible, we will also attempt to provide unreleased works from the label and it's artists.

The Nomad's

*The apostrophe in the band name, and lack of one in the title, are accurate to the labels on this disc. No explanation has been found or given.

Karl Fields and the Sands of Time
1141 (1966)

*The catalog number is a reference to the Cuca single released in 1963 by Raylene, which was penned by husband and wife Kelly and Sally DiCianni. It was catalog number J-1141.

*Karl Neunfeldt, born 1947 in Port Washington, WI, lived in Australia and Canada in the 1970s, and recorded for His Master's Voice and United Artists Records as Karl Erikson. His most recent album, "Traveller", was released in 2018.

The Sunstone Lollypop

*The Sunstone Lollypop was formed by Kelly DiCianni's sons David and Keith, along with drummer Steve Marks. Marks left after the first single, and subsequent releases include Tom Hansen on drums. This first Sunstone single shipped from 2 different pressing plants (Wakefield and Cuca), and the Wakefield variant originally included a picture sleeve.

The Sunstone Lollypop
Forever Be In Doubt

*"Never Sad" was recorded in Milwaukee at Dave Kennedy Studios, home of Raynard Records.

The Sunstone Lollypop

Donny Bongers and the Nashville Sound
45-8520/1 (1969)

*Bongers and his band were the backing group on Don "the Drifter" Shuckhart's Tee Pee release in 1967. The band is purported to have recorded many originals by the DiCianni's, though only this disc was ever issued.

Don Bongers, his band, and Kelly DiCianni were the guests on WBAY-AM radio in Green Bay with Mike McKenna and Mike Jacobs on September 18, 1969. Listen to the broadcast here. They discuss writing, recording, and gigging.

Kelly sent a short tape to Don Bongers prior the Christmas 1969, with a short greeting and accordion demos of two unreleased songs, "Whisper of Love" and "Lonely Weekend". Listen here.

45-8522/3 (unissued)

Virgin Spring
Easy

*Virgin Spring is essentially a continuation of The Sunstone Lollypop, as it is still the trio of the two DiCianni brothers with Hansen.

KEL as a label essentially goes dormant at this point. The DiCianni family continued to focus on and record their own music, but no known releases occurred during this 10 year period.

Luci D'Mari

*Artist is Lucille Maricich, Kelly DiCianni's sister. A-side is co-composed with Kelly, while the B-side was written by Kelly and his wife Sally.

Appleton MacDowell Male Chorus
"Conductor's Choice"

*This LP was one of many annual releases by the renowned vocal ensemble, and for whatever reason, KEL handled the pressing that year. Many recordings handled in this period by local Custom Records franchisee George F. Johnston carry the same numbering system (as they were the product of for-hire mastering and pressing facility KM Records of Burbank, California), but none have the distinct KEL logo as this one does, nor any explicit mention of Kelly DiCianni. It is possible that funding for this album was backed in some way by the DiCianni family.

A single may exist titled "Will You Love Me Tomorrow" by Bob Koll, but it may be unrelated or erroneous.
