David Faas (May 23, 1951-December 4, 2020)

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Dave Faas, bassist of Soup, and the band's last surviving member. He fought for several years with poor health, and yesterday his battle ended. We are currently uploading Soup's two full-length albums, as well as some live and studio material that has gone unissued. They are dedicated in his memory. RIP Dave. You will not be forgotten.

  1. A very nice guy. An exceptional trio. Each member played an intrical part of Soup!

  2. Dave was a versatile player. Long after Soup was history he was laying down solid and sweet bass with Madison Blues and Latin bands. Good guitarist, too. Dave was smart, funny and fun to hang with.

  3. I was very close to Dave and spent a lot of time with him as the drummer Rob Griffths wife. All 3 members of SOUP were very talented musicians and special people to me. Now they are rocking in heaven together.

    1. If I remember correctly, M, I met you at the SOUP celebration in Madison. You were SO incredibly kind; spent time talking with me and also got Dave’s autograph for me. I think of you with gratitude often. THANK YOU for being the amazing person you are! Pam
