Tee Pee Records (1967-1969)

The general wisdom claims that Tee Pee Records was initially established to release records for artists not signed to Target Productions or J.K. Productions (a booking agency run by former Golden Catalinas drummer Jim Kelly).
This is a rather tenuous hypothesis however, as the Tee Pee imprint seems to have been more recognizable and thus became the main avenue for releases from Target Recording Studio, regardless of management affiliation. By far, the majority of output from the studio shipped on Tee Pee.
Even today, Tee Pee is more widely known to fans and collectors than Target.
